Islamabad, September 12, 2026: The Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC), under the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), participated in the 8th International Multidisciplinary Research Conference (IMRC-2026) held from 10–12 September 2026 at Bara Gali Summer Campus, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The conference was organized by the Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT), Peshawar, in collaboration with leading universities and science and technology organizations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dr. Ghazala Ali Khan, Additional Director, PSF–PASTIC Regional Office Peshawar, participated as a Guest Speaker during the Opening Ceremony of the conference. In her address, she highlighted the important role of PSF–PASTIC in promoting scientific research, innovation, information dissemination, and research support services, particularly for researchers, academics, and students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The conference provided a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, academicians, professionals, and students to exchange knowledge, share research findings, and explore opportunities for academic and scientific collaboration.
PASTIC contributed to the conference through the publication of the Book of Abstracts, facilitating the documentation and dissemination of research presented during the event. The Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) also extended financial support for the organization of the conference, reflecting its continued commitment to promoting scientific activities and strengthening the research culture in the country.
A significant outcome of the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT) and PASTIC. The MoU is aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration, developing research linkages, enhancing the exchange of scientific and technological information, and promoting cooperation in areas of mutual academic and research interest.
The collaboration is expected to provide opportunities for joint academic and research activities, knowledge-sharing initiatives, capacity-building programmes, and improved access to scientific and technological information resources for researchers and students.
The participation of PSF–PASTIC in IMRC-2026 reflects its continued efforts to strengthen research capacity, promote academic and institutional collaboration, facilitate knowledge dissemination, and support the advancement of science, technology, and innovation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across Pakistan.
PASTIC will continue to collaborate with universities, research institutions, and science and technology organizations through conferences, training programmes, research support activities, and institutional partnerships to strengthen the national research ecosystem and facilitate the effective dissemination and utilization of scientific and technological information.
