PASTIC-Peshawar in collaboration with IRNUM (Institute of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine) & National Academy of young Scientists (NAYS) organized a Health Awareness Seminar on Cancer, risk factors and treatment titled “World Cancer day” on 4th Feb. 2013 at NCE In Geology, University of Peshawar.

Speakers were from PASTIC, IRNUM & University of Peshawar. Ghazala Yasmeen Malik (Dy. Director PASTIC) delivered a talk about PASTIC/PSF S&T information Services by explaining the role of PASTIC/PSF for scientific community. She emphasized the participants to take guidance from the PASTIC/PSF during their research work. While Dr. M. Rauf Khattak (Director IRNUM), Dr Jawad Akhtar Hussain, DCMO (IRNUM-Peshawar & Dr. Zaki-Ullah, Pharmacy Department University of Peshawar talked in detail about Cancer, risk factors and treatment’.

During the seminar PASTIC services stall was also arranged. All the participants (more then 100) visited the stall. Among them, PASTIC Services brochure was distributed while 73 researchers get registered themselves as a free member of PASTIC.

Beside this, the students was encouraged to participate in Technological Innovation Summit held at University of The Punjab in April 2013.
