Islamabad, October 15, 2025 — The Pakistan Science and Technology Information Centre (PASTIC) successfully organized a one-day introductory workshop on Research Tools and Techniques – covering SPSS, NVivo, and Mendeley Reference Management – at the PASTIC National Centre, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Campus, Islamabad.
A group of approximately 35 researchers from the Department of Anthropology, QAU, attended the workshop under the supervision of Dr. Saira Kazmi. The session aimed to familiarize participants with modern research tools and digital resources that enhance academic research, data management, and reference management.
During the workshop, participants were briefed on the use of PASTIC’s digital resources, scientific databases, and citation management software. The session also highlighted PASTIC’s ongoing efforts to support the national research community through its training programs, information services, and digital platforms. The interactive sessions provided participants with hands-on exposure to advanced research tools, enabling them to better understand how technology can aid in data collection, analysis, and dissemination of scientific information.
Speaking on the occasion, a PASTIC representative emphasized the Centre’s commitment to building the research capacity of students and professionals across Pakistan. “PASTIC is dedicated to empowering researchers with the tools and skills necessary for high-quality, data-driven research and innovation,” the representative noted.
Attendees appreciated the practical approach and engaging learning environment, describing the workshop as insightful and professionally enriching.
The event concluded with a lively Q&A session, during which participants shared their feedback and explored opportunities for future collaboration with PASTIC.
