PASTIC Concludes Two-Day Training Workshop on "LaTeX (Learn How to Write Research Papers/Thesis)"
The Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Center (PASTIC) successfully concluded a two-day training workshop on LaTeX, held from July 16 to 17, 2025, at the PASTIC National Center, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Campus, Islamabad.
The workshop aimed to equip researchers, students, and professionals with practical skills in scientific writing and technical documentation using LaTeX, a powerful open-source typesetting system commonly used in academia and research. Participants engaged in comprehensive hands-on sessions, learning how to create professionally formatted research papers, theses, reports, and presentations.
A total of 22 students from leading academic institutions, including Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), International Islamic University (IIU), and the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), attended the workshop. The sessions saw active participation and enthusiastic engagement from the attendees, indicating a strong demand for capacity-building initiatives in research documentation and publishing.
Participants also explored the specialized facilities and services offered by PASTIC, which support the scientific community by enhancing research capabilities and promoting open knowledge sharing across academic disciplines.
This initiative underscores PASTIC's ongoing commitment to strengthening research capacity in Pakistan and fostering the use of open-source tools for scholarly communication. Through training programs like this, PASTIC continues to empower researchers and encourage a culture of technical excellence and self-reliance in scientific documentation.
