Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology Mr. K. B. Rind launched the new automated scientific information dissemination service of Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) during his visit to PASTIC on 09-07-2010.

Mr. Rind in his address appreciated PASTIC anticipatory and responsive S&T information services especially for industrial sector and the recent MoU signed by PASTIC with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said PASTIC could bridge the gap between industry and academia. It could project information of R&D generated in the universities and other R&D organizations especially under the Ministry of Science and Technology to develop close correlation between research objectives and the industry priorities.

While welcoming the Secretary, Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro, Director General PASTIC/Chairman PSF briefed the Secretary about the historical background of PASTIC its services, activities and new initiatives. Later on he took him around the facilities of PASTIC especially printing press which provide printing facility to all R&D and S&T organizations of Ministry of Science and Technology.
