Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre, (PASTIC), Islamabad and Instituteof Research Promotion (IRP) Lahore, signed a memorandum of understanding to develop cooperation and collaboration for the promotion of R&D culture in Pakistan in PSF, Islamabad on June 3, 2010.

Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation and Director General,PASTIC and Mr. Abid H. K Sherwani, Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Research Promotion signed the public private partnership for coordination and cooperation between Central Government and non Government institutes in a ceremony held at PSF. While addressing to media Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro Director General, PASTIC said that both the organization will use their all resources to develop science culture he further added that liaison will be developed between Chambers of Commerce and Industries, business bodies and R & D organizations of public and private sector to promote R&D in Pakistan and this MoU will prove a mile stone in development of industrial research. Mr Sherwani also ensured the cooperation in bridging the gap between industry and research institutes. Engineer Abdul Rasheed Khan Advisor to minister of Science and Technology appreciated the efforts of PASTIC & PSF for cooperation and collaborative measures in strengthening R&D culture in Pakistan he also guaranteed the cooperation of Ministry of science and technology.
