Quetta, 15 July 2026: The Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC), Regional Office/Sub-Centre Quetta, in collaboration with the Training and Development (T&D) Section, Human Resource Management (HRM), BUITEMS, Quetta, successfully organized a one-day workshop on “Research Methodology & Proposal Writing.”
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ research skills, improve their proposal-writing techniques, and promote quality research practices within higher education institutions.
The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Khalil Hafeez, Vice Chancellor, BUITEMS, as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Muhammad Suleman Kasi attended as the Guest of Honour.
Faculty members from BUITEMS and SBK Women’s University, along with researchers, MPhil scholars, and PhD scholars, participated in the workshop. The diverse participation reflected the growing interest of the academic community in enhancing research capabilities and developing well-structured and academically sound research proposals.
The event was organized under the leadership of Mr. Abdul Khalique Sial, Regional Incharge, PASTIC Sub-Centre Quetta, while Mr. Syed Ullah Dad Shah served as the Chief Organizer. The workshop featured an informative technical session delivered by Mr. Muhammad Zaheer, Assistant Professor, as the Resource Person.
During the session, Mr. Muhammad Zaheer provided participants with valuable insights into research methodology and proposal writing. The session focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of systematic research practices and improving their ability to prepare clear, effective, and academically credible research proposals.
During his address, Prof. Dr. Khalil Hafeez highly appreciated the efforts of PASTIC Regional Office Quetta, particularly the contributions of Mr. Abdul Khalique Sial and Mr. Syed Ullah Dad Shah, in organizing such a valuable academic activity. He emphasized that research-oriented capacity-building workshops are the need of the hour and play an important role in strengthening research culture within higher education institutions.
The Vice Chancellor assured BUITEMS’ continued collaboration with PASTIC in organizing similar capacity-building programs in the future. He also shared his positive feedback and recorded his remarks in appreciation of the initiative.
At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates were distributed among the participating faculty members, researchers, and scholars. Mr. Abdul Khalique Sial presented a commemorative shield to Prof. Dr. Khalil Hafeez, Vice Chancellor, BUITEMS. Shields were also presented to Mr. Muhammad Zaheer, Assistant Professor and Resource Person, and Mr. Syed Ullah Dad Shah, Chief Organizer, in recognition of their valuable contributions.
On behalf of BUITEMS, Prof. Dr. Khalil Hafeez, who also serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), presented a shield to Mr. Abdul Khalique Sial in recognition of his outstanding services and continued efforts to promote research and academic development in Balochistan.
The workshop concluded with a group photograph. Participants highly appreciated the initiative and expressed keen interest in attending more research-oriented training and capacity-building programs in the future.
The successful completion of the workshop reflects PASTIC’s continued commitment to strengthening research capacity, promoting quality academic practices, supporting researchers, and fostering institutional collaboration across Balochistan.
