A total of 20 participants from Quaid-i-Azam University, Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, COMSATS University Islamabad, and National University of Modern Languages attended the hands-on workshop, representing diverse academic and research backgrounds.
On the first day, participants were introduced to LaTeX, focusing on its fundamental concepts, document structure, text formatting techniques, and table creation. The sessions combined theoretical explanations with live demonstrations, enabling participants to practice exercises in real time and build a strong conceptual foundation.
The second day focused on advanced features of LaTeX, such as table formatting techniques, insertion and management of images, page layouts, mathematical equations, references and citations, document styles, and the use of professional templates. The highly interactive sessions enabled participants to practice each step, strengthening their command over the software for academic and research writing.
The sessions were highly interactive and step-by-step, allowing participants to implement each feature during the workshop itself. The training concluded with great enthusiasm and active engagement from all attendees, representing diverse academic and research backgrounds.
This initiative reflects PASTIC’s continued efforts to promote and disseminate modern scientific tools widely used in academia and the global research community. By equipping researchers and students with essential LaTeX skills, PASTIC aims to enhance the quality and professionalism of scientific documentation and publications in Pakistan.
PASTIC looks forward to organizing more such capacity-building programs in the near future to further strengthen research and academic excellence across the country.
