A one-day workshop was organized by PASTIC-Faisalabad in collaboration with the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences BZU-Multan and IPO-Pakistan at BZU, on May 11, May 2016.

The workshop was planned to orient the faculty members about the basic of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) & the essential requirements for its protection. 60 participants (Deans, Directors and senior faculty members) attended the Workshop. Participants learned about the importance of IP rights, copyrights, trademarks, patents, Industrial design, trade secrets, drafting and filling of patent application. Prof. Dr. Masood Akhtar, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences welcomed the participants and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram Sheikh, Director General, PASTIC/Member Science-PSF gave the Introductory Remarks. The Chief Guest of the workshop Prof. Dr. Tahir Amin, Vice Chancellor, BZU, shared his views about significance and requirement of such kind of activities and appreciated the efforts of PASTIC & IUB in arranging the activity.

Mr. Zahoor Ahmad,IPO- Pakistan gave a detailed presentation on Importance of Patent Information for Researchers (Drafting & filing Process of patents). Prof. Dr. Moazzam Ali focused his presentation on patent filling and drafting issues and shared his experiences for Patent filling and drafting. At the end of the Inaugural Session shields were distributed among the speakers and organizers.
