November 04, 2019, Islamabad - A seven member Chinese Delegation of senior officials from Beijing Academyof Science and Technology (BJAST), China visited Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC), Islamabad on 4thNovember 2019and a meeting was held with the senior officers of the PASTIC and the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF).

The delegation was comprising of Mr. GuoGuangsheng, President, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST), Mr. GaoYue, Director, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST), Han Jie, Director, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST), Li Junkai, Director, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST), Zhang Xin, Managing Director, Beijing International Science& Technology Service Center Co.,Ltd, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST), Liu Linde, Director of General Office/Translator, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST)and Mr. Jia Wei (First Secretary (S&T), Chinese Embassy Pakistan). Prof. Dr Muhammad AkramShaikhDirector General PASTICwarmly welcomed the guests.Delegation visited different sections of PASTIC to acquaint them about the delivery of various S&T information services delivered by the organization. DG PASTIC gave a brief introduction about services of PASTIC. Mr. GuoGuangsheng, briefed about BJASTas the only large high-level multidisciplinary scientific research institution with the mission to build a world-class harmonious livable capital, and the development strategy of building a strong academy by innovation, openness, talents and service.During the meeting, the officials of the two organizations discussed avenues for bilateral mutual collaboration. Representatives of both the countries agreed upon bilateral cooperation by establishing appropriate mechanisms for Agreement.Avenues identified for mutual collaboration were resource sharing through development of a Pak-China Information Centre at BJAST. In the end the Chinese delegation expressed hopes of future cooperation between the organizations of the two friendly neighboring countries. DG PASTIC paid thanks to the Chinese delegation and presented souvenir/shields to the delegates.
