Biosfety workshops were planned to orient the faculty members and research scholars (Phil/PhD) of IBGE about the basic of Biosafety measures and to reduce the possible exposure of the laboratory worker / researchers to potentially infectious agents. PASTIC-Peshawar in collaboration with National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS), Institute of Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering (IBGE), and Amir Muhammad Khan Campus-Mardan, the University of Agriculture, Peshawar organized the following two workshops:

Prof. Dr. Safdar Hussain Shah, Director IBGE, delivered welcomed speech. Prof. Dr. Zahoor A. Swati, Vice Chancellor was the chief guest of workshop. He shared his precious experiences of life as scientists and his views about worth and necessity of this Biosafety workshop. Mr. Aftab Ahmed, president NAYS briefly introduced NAYS, it activities and aims of objective of this particular workshop. Mrs. Ghazala Ali Khan, Deputy Director PASTIC, briefly introduced the audience about PASTIC/PSF, S&T services for researchers throughout Pakistan and particularly in KP. At the closing ceremony, Dr. Muhammad Arif, Associate Professor /Additional Director ORIC, Agriculture University Peshawar was chief guest. He distributed the shields & certificates among speakers, organizers & participants. A total of 80 researchers attended the workshop.

A total of 113 researchers including faculty members attended the workshop.
Dr. Toheed Iqbal, Coordinator, AMK Campus, Mardan gave the introductory remarks and appreciated efforts of PASTIC and NAYS for arranging such important workshop in their campus. Dr. Wasi Ullah Malik, Acting Director AMK Campus Mardan, introduced his campus and shared his views about workshop. Mrs. Ghazala Ali Khan, Deputy Director PASTIC, gave an introduction to the audience about PASTIC/PSF, S&T services for researchers throughout Pakistan and particularly in KP. At the end of workshop shields and certificates were distributed to the participants and organizers.
