A New Headset “AlterEgo” Reads the Thoughts developed by MIT

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have developed a computer interface AlterEgo Headset
that can recognise the words thought and which are still not spoken out.

The device, called AlterEgo, can identify what is going on in your brain without speaking. It is a wearable device

where the head is an extension of the jaw curves and is connected to a computer system. The electrodes in the

device capture the musculoskeletal signals in the jaw and face caused by thinking. Speech is undetectable and

observable for the human eye. The signals are fed to the machine's automated learning system, which uses neural

networks to determine what you are trying to say. The device can answer any queries such as time, commodity

prices, etc. This is done through the sensors in the device, which picks signals from seven main areas along the

neck and jaw to enable the speaker to recognize what you think and graduation in the form of words and the video

is located in the last news.

“The motivation for creating this device was to create more

interaction between humans and technology without effort,” said

Arnf Kapoor, a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of

Technology who led the development team of the new system.

“The more we interact with computers, the more we gain from

their strengths, Help solve a problem or translate what we want

without the need to search, click or write.”

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology tested the device on 10 people, each of whom used it

for 15 minutes to answer some calculations performed by the person in silence, and reached the accuracy of the

device to 92%, although not utter a word out loud! This is an out-of-the-ordinary comparison with the devices

we interact with, such as smart phones and other devices. It's like science fiction, but the AlterEgo is now in

development and is waiting for business to reach users

China will Launch Two Remote Sensing Satellites for Pakistan in June, 2018

China launches remote sensing satellites on a Long March-2C carrier rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch
Center in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, Dec. 26, 2017. As the third batch of the Yaogan-30 project, the
satellites will conduct electromagnetic environmental probes and other experiments, (Xinhua/Liang Keyan).

China will launch two remote sensing satellites
for Pakistan in June this year, according to the
China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology
(CALVT). It is noteworthy that it will be the first
international commercial launch for a Long
March-2C rocket for around 18 years after it
carried Motorola's Iridium satellites into orbit in
1999. One of the two satellites that are to be
launched is an optical remote sensing satellite
while the other one would be an experimental

satellite. These satellites would be used for geo-monitoring and satellite imagery. The Pakistan Remote
Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) has been developed for fulfilling the multi-spectral imaging needs. Long March-
2C rockets are mainly used to send satellites into low Earth or Sun-synchronous orbits. At the moment,
Pakistan has only one satellite “PakSat-1R” into space, launched in 2011 which is being used for
communication and data broad-casting.

Tummy Tech Tracks Electrical Activity for Signs of Indigestion

A new wearable device that non-invasively monitors electrical activity in the stomach could help people with
digestive problems determine with greater precision whether treatments or diets are working.

The stomach sensor syncs with an app to pair internal electrical signals with meals, bowel movements, and

other gastrointestinal events. Photo: University of California San Diego.

If clinically validated, the stomach sensor could also help revive a medical technology called

electrogastrography (EGG) that once piqued gastroenterologists' interest, but has largely fallen out of favor

owing to controversy surrounding its diagnostic relevance.

EGG works much like an electrocardiogram, except instead of recording electrical activity of the heart it picks

up electrical signals that travel through stomach muscles to control gastric contractions.

The method is designed to test whether so-called slow waves originating from pacemaker cells of the stomach

are oscillating at a healthy 3 cycles per minute. But the signals detected by adhesive electrodes on the skin are

often weak and muddied by artifacts of stomach movement.

“It's promising technology,” says Thomas Abell, a gastroenterologist who routinely uses EGG at the

University of Louisville but was not involved in the new study. “This might prove to be a clinically useful tool

that people accept.”
