Two-Days Training Workshop on “SPSS”
PASTIC Sub Centre Peshawar in collaboration with
ORIC-UOP organized a two-days SPSS training work-
shop on October 28-29, 2024 at Business Incubation
Centre-University of Peshawar.
The workshop commenced with opening remarks by Dr.
Ghazala Ali Khan, Additional Director, PASTIC and
featured insightful sessions by Dr. Sabeeh Ullah, Assis-
tant Professor, Institute of Business & Management
Sciences, The Agriculture University, Peshawar., The
event was further enriched by contributions from Prof. Dr.
Sajjad Ahmad, Director ORIC-University of Peshawar
and Dr. Nadia Bibi, Assistant Professor, Shaheed Benazir
Bhutto Women University, Peshawar.

Dr. Sabeeh Ullah as a resource person, provided valuable
insights about data entry, test selection, and SPSS
applications across various fields These insights were
complemented by practical sessions that were effectively
applied on quantitative and qualitative data.
A total of fifty-four participants from various institutes,

PASTIC supported printing & publishing of book Titled
Mein Sciendaan Kyun Bana
؟ﺎﻧﺑ ںوﯾﮐ نادـــــــــــــﺳﻧﺋﺎﺳ ںﯾﻣ
authored by Dr. Noor Muhammad Butt. This book is an
Urdu translation of his earlier work "The Excitement of
Science". Dr. Butt is a prominent Pakistani nuclear
physicist known for his work in nanotechnology. He has
held key positions in academia and research institutions
and has authored many research papers. He is also a
recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz award. "The Excitement of
Science" is a captivating collection of reflections from
eminent Pakistani scientists on why they chose science as
a career. Published by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences
in 2009, this book offers a unique insight into the personal
journeys and motivations of these scientists. Dr. Butt,
along with editor, K. Yaldram, compiles a series of
engaging narratives that highlight the passion, curiosity,
and dedication that drive scientific discovery. The book is
not only an inspiration for aspiring scientists but also a
testament to the impact of science on society.
The main objective of the book is to highlight the achieve-
ments of the famous Pakistani scientists. The book also
discloses the hardships faced by the pioneer scientists of
Pakistan during their academic journey. This book will be
a valuable source of inspiration and motivation for
students which is always needed to keep forward in
science. This book will surely create interest about
pursuing a science career among its readers.

the content accessible to Urdu speaker, thereby reaching a
broader audience especially school children. Funds for
the printing of the said book are provided by PSF and
Pakistan Academy of Sciences jointly.
Overall, "The Excitement of Science" is a must-read for
anyone interested in the personal stories behind scientific
achievements and the diverse paths that lead individuals
to pursue careers in science. PASTIC has provided
editorial support for printing of the book e.g., editing,
composing and proofreading.

Pakistan Industrial trade fair on September 04, 2024, at
the expo centre in Karachi. The event was organized by
Pak Event and Exhibitions, which aimed to bridge the gap
between industry and trade, with a particular focus on the
engineering, construction, and building sectors.

attended the 13 Edition of the IEEEP Fair on September
12, 2024, at the Expo Centre in Karachi organized by the
IEEEP (Karachi Centre) and Badar Expo Solutions. The
event highlighted significant advancements in the
engineering sector.
d. Dr. Ghazala Ali Khan Additional Director PASTIC
attended one day workshop titled “Quality Higher
Education” on September 11, 2024 at video conference
room, Islamia College, Peshawar as guest of honor. Prof.
Dr. Ali Muhammad was the Chief Guest of the event.
e. Additional Director PASTIC Dr. Ghazala Ali Khan was
honored to serve as a judge for the speech competition

h. Mr. Syed Shabib Zaidi, Science Assistant at PSCK,
attended Pakistan Sustainability Week (PSW) on Septem-
ber 27, 2024, at the Expo Centre in Karachi. The event
was organized by FAKT Exhibitions (Pvt.) Ltd., the event
aimed to promote networking, collaboration, and knowl-
edge exchange within the alternative energy sector in
Pakistan.
i. Ms. Afsheen Tariq, Assistant Director (STI) at PSCK,
participated in the seminar on “Intellectual Property
Protection and Stakeholder Consultation on Adaptation of
WIPO” on October 2, 2024, at the LEJ, ICCBS, Univer-
sity of Karachi. The event was organized by the Intellec-
tual Property Rights (IPO) Pakistan in collaboration with
the International Center for Chemical and Biological
Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi.
j. The DataFest held at the Pak-China Friendship Centre is
a prominent event that focuses on data science, analytics,
and technology innovation. It brings together
professionals, experts, and enthusiasts from
various sectors to explore the latest trends

machine learning, and other cutting-edge technologies

UNFCCC on Gender & Climate Change", jointly orga-
nized by WWF-Pakistan and MoCC & EC held at
Ramada Hotel, Islamabad from October 10-11, 2024.

attended a seminar on "Sustainable Solid Waste Manage-
ment" on October 24, 2024, held at the Department of
Chemical Engineering, University of Karachi. The event
brought together faculty members, industry representa-
tives, and students to discuss innovative approaches and
challenges in the field of waste management.

tion (TEXPO)" on October 24, 2024, at the Expo Centre
Karachi. During her visit, she engaged with representa-
tives from various national and international industries to
explore potential future collaborations. The event,
organized by the Trade Development Authority of
Pakistan (TDAP), served as a key platform for
PASTIC officers participated in a two days Data Fest-2024 event
held at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad.
Mr. Waqar Ahmad, ASIO, attended a training on "Information
Relevant to UNFCCC on Gender & Climate Change".

TEXPO aimed to promote these sectors globally, foster-
ing trade opportunities and strengthening international
business ties.
n. Mr. Syed Shabib Zaidi, Science Assistant at PSCK,
attended a seminar titled “Health is Wealth: Spread This
World” along with an E-poster competition on October
29, 2024, at the University of Karachi. The event focused
on promoting health awareness and encouraging innova-
tive ideas related to health and wellness. The event was
organized by Department of Biochemistry University of
Karachi.
Dr. Syed Aftab Hussain Shah, Addl. Dir. (STI), PASTIC held a
meeting with Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, to discuss R&D
data acquisition.

courses organized by (PPMI) during October, 2024.
