to LaTeX, a professional typesetting system exten-
sively used for preparing scientific and academic
documents. Through lectures and practical demonstra-
tions, participants learned how to create and structure
research papers effectively. The session covered
essential topics such as inserting and formatting
figures, tables, and mathematical equations, managing
citations and references with BibTeX, and organizing
lists, sections, and cross-references efficiently.

Participants expressed keen interest in joining the
upcoming on-site, hands-on training session on
LaTeX, scheduled to be held at PASTIC National
Centre, Quaid-i-Azam University Campus, Islamabad,
in November 2025, for more in-depth and practical
learning.

Two-Days Training Workshop on “AI & Data

Sciences: Advancing Research Across all Sciences”

The Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information
Centre (PASTIC) successfully concluded its two-days
Training Workshop on “AI & Data Sciences: Advancing
Research Across All Sciences”, held on October 30–31,
2025, at the PASTIC National Centre, Quaid-i-Azam
University (QAU) Campus, Islamabad.

This workshop of PASTIC's ongoing series on “Artificial
Intelligence for All Sciences,” brought together 20 partici-
pants representing a wide range of institutions including
Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Capital University of
Science & Technology (CUST), Fatima Jinnah Women
University (FJWU), and the Sindh Education Department
from diverse academic and research backgrounds—such as
Zoology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Social
Sciences. This workshop truly demonstrates the interdisci-
plinary impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data
Science in advancing modern research.

During the two-days program, core topics in machine
learning, data visualization, research data management, and
AI applications in science were covered. The workshop
featured hands-on demonstrations, case studies, and
discussions to help participants understand how AI can be
effectively integrated into ongoing research projects.

At the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram
Shaikh, Director General of PASTIC, underscored the
pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in
advancing research and development across Pakistan.
According to him, “Artificial Intelligence is no longer
confined to computer science alone—it is transforming
every discipline, from life sciences to social sciences.
Through these workshops, PASTIC aims to build national
capacity by empowering researchers with the knowledge
and tools needed to apply AI effectively in their respective
fields.”

Participants appreciated PASTIC's efforts in organizing the
training and providing a collaborative platform for interdis-
ciplinary learning. By organizing regular workshops,
