Two-Days Training Workshop on
“LaTeX (Learn How to Write Research Papers/
Thesis)”
Two-daystrainingworkshoponLaTeX,washeldfrom
July16-17,2025,atthePASTICNationalCenter,
Quaid-i-AzamUniversity(QAU)Campus,Islamabad.
Theworkshopwasaimedatequippingresearchers,
students,andprofessionalswithpracticalskillsin
scientificwritingandtechnicaldocumentationby
usingLaTeX,apowerfulopen-sourcetypesetting
systemwidelyusedinacademiaandresearch.The
trainingfeaturedcomprehensivehands-onsessions,
enablingparticipantstocreateprofessionally
formattedresearchpapers,theses,reports,and
presentations.
Atotalof22studentsfromleadingacademic
institutions—includingQuaid-i-AzamUniversity
(QAU),InternationalIslamicUniversity(IIU),andthe
NationalUniversityofSciencesandTechnology
(NUST)—tookpartintheworkshop.Thesessions
witnessedactiveparticipationandenthusiastic
engagementfromattendees,reflectingastrong
demandforcapacity-buildinginitiativesinresearch
documentationandpublishing.
Participantsalsohadtheopportunitytoexplorethe
specializedfacilitiesandservicesofferedbyPASTIC
insupportofthescientificcommunity.Theseservices
aredesignedtofacilitateaccesstoinformation,
enhanceresearchcapabilities,andpromoteopen
knowledgesharingacrossacademicdisciplines.
ThisinitiativeunderscoresPASTIC'songoing
commitmenttostrengtheningresearchcapacityin
Pakistanandfosteringtheuseofopen-sourcetoolsfor
scholarlycommunication.Byorganizingsuchtraining
programs, PASTIC continues to play a pivotal role in
empoweringresearchersandencouragingacultureof
technicalexcellenceandself-relianceinscientific
documentation.

emphasizedstrategiesforovercomingthecritical

strategiesaredesignedtoguidehigh-potentialinnova-

ingtheirchancesofsuccessfulcommercialization.
TheinitiativereflectsPSF'scontinuedcommitmentto
fosteringaresearchandinnovationecosystemthat
deliversreal-worldimpactbyequippingscientistsand
technologistswiththetoolsandknowledgenecessary
foreffectiveprojectexecutionandtechnology
deployment.
Theworkshopconcludedwithacertificatedistribution
ceremony,acknowledgingtheparticipants'dedication

Assessment”onJuly12,2025atthePakistanInstituteof
Rehabilitation&MedicalSciences(PIRMS),Karachi.
Theworkshopwasattendedby28participants,including
teachers,instructors,andfacilitatorsfromvariousacademic
institutionsanddisciplines.Theprimaryobjectiveofthe
trainingwastoenhancepedagogicalskillsandpromotethe
exchangeofbestteachingpracticesamongeducators.
ThesessioncommencedbyawelcomeaddressbyDr.Saba
Memon,DirectorandResearchHeadatPakistanGroupof
Colleges.Ms.AfsheenTariq,AssistantDirector(STI),

ThetechnicalsessionwasledbyDr.RuqayaNangrejo,
DeputyRegistrarandAssociateProfessorofPhysiologyat
BaqaiMedicalUniversity.Herpresentationofferedan
insightfulandinteractiveexplorationofvarioustoolsfor
formativeassessment,withafocusonintegratinginnova-
tiveteachingstrategiesanddigitaltechnologiestoimprove
studentengagementandlearningoutcomes.

FOSPAH Training Session at PASTIC

23,2025.Thisseminaraimedatraisingawarenessabout
variousaspectsofworkplaceharassment,includingwhat
constitutesharassment,theimportanceofaddressingit,
howtofilecomplaints,andtheproceduresinvolved.
FOSPAHteamwascomposedofLegalCoordinator,Ms
AyeshaZeb;LawOfficer,Mr.MohsinSheikh;Assistant
Registrar,Mr.WaqarAhmedandMs.MominaAsif,Media
&CommunicationsOfficer.Theyemphasizedtheneedfor
allemployeestounderstandandrecognizeworkplace
harassment,stressingtheimportanceoffosteringarespect-
fulandinclusiveworkenvironment.Thesessionwasa
valuable learning opportunity for PASTIC staff and is part
oftheorganization'songoingeffortstopromoteasafe
