Webinar on "Research Ethics”
PASTIC Karachi Organized a Webinar on "Research
Ethics” on July 20, 2022 at PASTIC Sub Centre Karachi.
The webinar was participated by more than 90 researchers
of different universities and R & D Institutions from Sindh,
Punjab, KPK & Baluchistan. The session was started with
the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a
welcome address by Ms Afsheen Tariq, Assistant Director
(STI), PASTIC Sub Centre Karachi. She briefed PASTIC
services and S & T information portal through the PASTIC
website with a documentary video of PASTIC / PSF. Dr.
Syeda Sadaf Akbar, Dean of Allied Health sciences, Malir
University of Science & Technology was the resource
person and gave a detailed presentation about Research
Ethics.

Total 160 participants including deans, faculty members,
PG students & Research scholars from different
departments of Baqai Medical University attended the
seminar.

PASTIC Sub Centre Karachi in collaboration with Quality
Enhancement Cell (QEC) Baqai Medical University &
Medical Education & Research (MER) Department Baqai
Dental College organized One Day Seminar on “How to
Write a great Scientific Paper and have it published in a
good Journal” held on July 21, 2022 at Baqai Medical
University, Karachi.

Mr. Israr Ahmed Khan, Registrar Baqai Medical University,
presented shield to Ms. Afsheen Tariq A.D (STI) PASTIC Sub
Centre Karachi.
After the recitation of the Holy Quran, Dr. Saeeda Junaid,
Head of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Baqai Medical
University, presented the welcome note in which she
introduced Baqai Medical University service & also
introduce the International Speaker / Facilitator of the
Seminar. Dr. Talha, M. Siddiqui, Chairman Medical
Education & Research (MER) Department Baqai Dental
College, Karachi gave introductory remarks & also
highlighted the role of MER department.
Dr. Saeeda Junaid, Head of (QEC) Baqai Medical University
presented the welcome note during the seminar .

Ms Afsheen Tariq, Assistant Director (STI), PASTIC
Karachi, introduced different services of PASTIC,
describes Pakistan Science Abstract (PSA), S & T
information portals & PASTIC S & T database to the
participants and also accentuated the significance of
Research paper writing and its publication..
International Speaker / Facilitator Prof. Dr. Syed Abdul
Aziz, Scientist at Health Canada Research Department,
and Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa,
Canada conducted the technical session. He explained
different Types of Manuscript, Trends in Publications &
common problem with submission etc to the participants.
During the Seminar an Interactive Question / Answers
session was conducted.
Prof. Dr. Syed Abdul Aziz Resource Person giving presentation on
Scientific Papers writing.
In the closing session chief guest Mr.Israr Ahmed Khan,
Registrar Baqai Medical University, presented vote of
thanks to Prof. Dr. Syed Abdul Aziz speaker of the
Seminar, Ms. Afsheen Tariq, Assistant Director (STI),
PASTIC Karachi team, participants & organizers of the
seminar. He recognizes the PASTIC efforts &
acknowledges the speaker lecture. In the end shields &
souvenir were distributed to PASTIC Team, Speaker and
certificates to the participants.

Qureshi, Professor Department of Biochemistry,
University of Karachi, presented the welcome note &
introduce the International Speaker / Facilitator of the
Seminar.
Prof. Dr. Syed Abdul Aziz, International Speaker /
Facilitator, Scientist at Health Canada Research
Department, and Professor, Faculty of Medicine,

certificates to the participants.

Chemical and Biological Sciences, University Of Karachi,
on July 19, 2022. A.D (STI) conducted a meeting with Mr.
Syed Moin ali (Assistant Manager, Technology Park and
Technology Incubation Center. He brief about ICCBS
Technology Park and Technology Incubation Center,
Business startup and facilities to young entrepreneurs.

Management Software''
PASTIC Faisalabad arranged an online workshop on
“Mendeley - Reference Management Software'' on July
27,-2022 at Ayub Agricultural Research Institute
Faisalabad.Total 73 participants including Directors,
HODs Researchers, and Students from Faisalabad, Jhang
, Sahiwal, Pasrur, Multan , Bahawalpur, Sargodha,
Chakwal and Fatehjang participated. Session was started
with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by
welcome address by Muhammad Hasnain, Deputy
Director PASTIC Faisalabad. The presentation/training on
workshop was delivered by Dr. Maryam Ibrar Shinwari,
Additional Director (STI) PASTIC Islamabad (Resource
Person).
