"Introducing Indigenous Research
Resources Developed by PASTIC for
Faculty Members & Research Scholars''
Seminar Series on
The Session was started with the recitation of the
Holy Quran, followed by welcome address by
Deputy Director PASTIC, Mr. Muhammad Hasnain
Faisalabad. The presentation/training was delivered
by the Resource Person, the Project Director and
Principal Librarian PNSRL PASTIC, Islamabad
Syed Habib Akhtar Jafery. While concluding remarks
were delivered by Ms. Samina Naz, Deputy Chief
Librarian, University of Sargodha, who highlighted
t h e i m p o r t a n c e o f t h e s e m i n a r f o r R & D
workers/scientists and the role of research and
development in promotion of scientists.
PASTIC Sub-Centre Faisalabad in collaboration with
NSRL, PNC, Islamabad organized a one-day seminar
on "Introducing Indigenous Research Resources
Developed by PASTIC for Faculty Members &
Research Scholars'' on November 11, 2020 at
University of Sargodha. Total 20 participants from
University of Sargodha participated in the seminar.
PASTIC National Centre in collaboration with
Department of Library and Information Sciences,
Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), organized
awareness seminar on “Introducing indigenous
Research Resources Developed by PASTIC for
Faculty Members & Research Scholars” on
November 19, 2020. Total 50 participants from
Islamia University of Bahawalpur, participated in the
seminar.

The session was started with the recitation of the
Holy Quran, followed by welcome address by
Professor Dr. Rubina Bhatti (Chairperson)
Department of Library and Information Sciences,
IUB. The presentation on the topic was delivered by
the Resource Person, the Project Director and
Principal Librarian PNSRL PASTIC, Islamabad
Syed Habib Akhtar Jafery. While concluding remarks
were delivered by Prof. Dr. Moazzam Jamil,
Registrar of IUB, who highlighted the importance of
the seminar for R&D workers/scientists and on the
role of research and development in promotion of
scientists.
Besides, the participants also attended online, The
signing ceremony of Document of Collaborative
Partnership between, the Worthy Vice Chancellor of
IUB, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob (Tamgha-e-
Imtiaz) and the worthy Director General PASTIC,
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram Sheikh at PASTIC
National Centre, Islamabad.

PASTIC Sub-Centre Faisalabad organized a one-day
seminar on “Introducing Indigenous Research
Resources Developed by PASTIC for Faculty
Members & PhD Scholars” on November 18, 2020 at
Cholistan University of Veterinary & Animal
S c i e n c e s ( C U VA S ) . To t a l 5 0 p a r t i c i p a n t s
participated in the seminar.
The Session was started with the recitation from the
Holy Quran, followed by welcome address by Mr.
Muhammad Hasnain, Deputy Director PASTIC
Faisalabad. The presentation/training on the seminar
was delivered by Resource Person, Syed Habib
Akhtar Jafery, Project Director/ Principal Librarian
PASTIC Islamabad. Concluding remarks were
delivered by Mr. Imran Siddique, CUVAS
Islamabad, and he highlighted the importance of
seminar for R&D workers/Scientists. He also shed
light on the role of research and development in
promotion of scientists. He also appreciated CUVAS
and PASTIC efforts to hold this successful seminar.

Total 64 participants from Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
University of Agriculture Multan participated in the
seminar.

Participation of PASTIC in the IFAP
Meeting for Asia and the Pacic Region
PASTIC being the National IFAP Committee-
Pakistan focal point Participated in the online IFAP
Meeting for Asia and the Pacific Region held on 5th
November 2020. In follow up to the 11th Session of
the Intergovernmental Council for IFAP, held
virtually from 22 to 25 September, The IFAP Chair,
Ms Dorothy Gordon held a meeting with the National
IFAP Committees around Asia and the Pacific
Region, During the meeting Ms Dorothy Gordon
discussed the renewal and update of IFAP's Strategic
Plan (2022-2025) and also debrief on the discussions
held over the 11th IFAP Council Session. All the
participating member countries including China,
Islamic Republic of Iran, Mongolia, Thailand,
Republic of Uzbekistan also shared their current
activities and updates on latest developments. Prof.
Dr. Muhammad Akram Shaikh, Director General
PASTIC also briefed about the various activities
organized by PASTIC along with development of
webpage of UNESCO, IFAP Committee Pakistan
over PASTIC website.
