PASTIC Sub-Centre, Karachi organized a webinar
on March 20, 2025 titled "Express the Power of Data
by using Orange Tool and Python for Data Analytics"
via Zoom. Over 60 researchers from various
universities and R&D institutions across Pakistan
participated in the session. The main objective of this
webinar was to enhance participants' skills in data
analytics using the Orange tool and Python.

The session commenced with an overview of
PASTIC services by Ms. Afsheen Tariq, Assistant
Director (STI) at PASTIC Sub Centre Karachi. Her
presentation was further enriched by a documentary
video featuring PASTIC and PSF.
Syed Muhammad Rafi, resource person of the
webinar delivered an insightful presentation on
leveraging the Orange tool and Python for data
analytics, emphasizing practical applications in data-
driven decision-making.

PASTIC Sub-Centre Karachi organized a webinar
titled "Application of Artificial Intelligence in
Healthcare" on March 26, 2025 via Zoom. The event
attracted over 70 researchers and professionals from
universities and R&D institutions across Pakistan,
fostering collaboration among industry leaders,
researchers, and healthcare experts in AI-driven
medical innovation.

Technology (SSUET), Karachi was the resource
person of this webinar. She conducted the technical
session, delivering a comprehensive and thought-
provoking presentation on the latest advancements in
AI and its transformative applications in the
healthcare sector.

Her presentation shed light on the revolutionary role
of AI in global healthcare, emphasizing its

National Scientist Directory (NSD)
Portal: Now Live and Accessible
An online portal of National Scientist Directory
(NSD) has been introduced by PASTIC to facilitate
the registration of Pakistani scientists in accordance
with the National STI policy, (Available at:
https://www.pastic.gov.pk/Scientist/login.aspx).
The data from the NSD will play a crucial role in the
strategic planning and advancement of human
resources in the science and technology (S&T)
sector, promoting research-driven results.

participated in a seminar titled “World Water Day
2025 – Glacier Preservation”, held on March 24,
2025 at the PCRWR Regional Office, Karachi. The
event was jointly organized by PCRWR and
SEGMITE to commemorate World Water Day, with
this year's theme emphasizing the importance of
glacier preservation in sustaining life and regulating
the global water cycle.
