One Day Consortium/Awareness Seminar Activity
Under the PSDP Project “National Digital
Archive of Research Published in Pakistani
Journals” for Punjab Region held at Bahauddin
Zakariya University (BZU), Multan.
PASTIC in collaboration with Bahauddin Zakariya
University (BZU), Multan organized a one day Consor-
tium/Awareness Seminar Activity under the PSDP Project
for Punjab Region on May 6, 2024 at Bahauddin Zakariya
University (BZU), Multan. Fifty-Five (55) Journal
Publishers from BZU participated in this activity.
Project is aimed to launch a National forum of Journals
Publishers community by facilitating free technical
support for Journal Hosting, digitization, data backups and
capacity building to achieve the Preservation of National
Research Content in Full-Text Format through standard-
ization along with Visualization Model to Review Re-
search Trends at country level.
Mr. Saifullah Azim, Project Manager briefly explained the
project's aims and objective towards providing a single
electronic-platform to publisher community in Pakistan
for preservation and dissemination of indigenous research
published in Pakistani Journals and gave a brief introduc-
tion about the PASTIC Abstracting & Indexing Services.
Ms Romila Qamar, Associate Editor, Sustainable Devel-
opment Policy Institute, Islamabad and Dr. Shafia Arshad,
Manager ORIC/Faculty Member, Islamia University of
Bahawalpur delivered the lectures on Journal Manage-
ment System (OJS) & Research Journal

Prof. Dr. M. Najam-ul-Haq, Director ORIC BZU, Multan
appreciated the PASTIC's initiative for development of
national archive for preservation of research content.
One-day Training Workshop on Citation and
Literature Management using EndNote Software
PATIC Sub Center Lahore and Government College
University, Lahore (GCUL) jointly organized one-day
training/workshop on Citation and literature Management
by using EndNote Software “held on 23rd May 2024.
Forty participants attended this training/workshop from
different departments of Government College University,
Lahore. Mr. Abdul Sattar, stage secretary, welcomed
guests, faculty members and other participants.
After recitation of The Holy Quran, Prof. Dr. Faiza Sharif,
Director ORIC/Chairman Sustainable Study Centre,
presented the welcome note in which she introduced the
resource person of Training/workshop Mr. Nadeem
Sohail, who is official Trainer and Adviser of EndNote in
Pakistan (Manager Libraries, The City School Network),
and highlighted the importance of “Citation and literature
Management by using EndNote Software”
Guest of Honour Mr. Ali Raza Khan, Additional Director
(STI), PASTIC introduced PASTIC services, he also
explained the role of Pakistan Science Foundation and
PASTIC in capacity building of researchers and he also
described importance of EndNote Software as Research
and Bibliographic Management/Citation tool. He prom-
ised to provide his cooperation in organizing such learning
events in future too.
Chief Guest of the workshop Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir,
Worthy Vice Chancellor, Government College University
Lahore (GCUL), shared Government College University
Lahore contribution towards promotion of S&T research
culture in University. She valued this training workshop
and encouraged to arrange such type of sessions in future
to facilitate Faculty Members Researchers and Scholars.
Mr. Nadeem Sohail, Manager Libraries, The City School
Network, conduct the session. He theoretically and
practically presented what, why and how citation manage-
ment is done.

At the end of the workshop, shields were distributed
among guests and resource persons. Participants received
their certificates. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Yasir, Professor,
Department of Sustainable Development Study Centre,
GCU Lahore, gave the vote of thanks to organizers,
resource person and all participants for their cooperation.
The Event was inaugurated by Federal Minister for
Science & Technology Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

a. Ms. Afsheen Tariq A.D (STI) attended the two-day
"Project Formulation Workshop" and visited the Univer-
sity Project Exhibition and Poster Competition “GEEKS”
2024, held from 13th-14th May, 2024 at Bahria University
Karachi Campus. The workshop was organized by the
Pakistan Science Foundation in collaboration with Bahria
University Karachi Campus and the PASTIC Sub Centre
Karachi team.

use HEC Digital Library and Tips For Research
Proposal Writing For Hunting PhD Scholarships”
PASTIC Sub Centre Peshawar organized a One day
Seminar on " How to Access and effective use HEC
Digital Library and Tips for Research Proposal Writing for
Hunting PHD Scholarships” on May 31, 2024 at PASTIC
Sub Centre, Peshawar. Dr. Ghazala Ali Khan Additional
Director PASTIC welcomed the participants, and resource
person. The formal training was started with the recitation
of the Holy Quran.
Dr. Tahir Jan Umarzai, Librarian, Central Library Univer-
sity of Peshawar provided his services as resource person.
A total of 30 students from CEMB-The Punjab University
Lahore, University of Science & Technology Bannu,
Allied Hospital Faisalabad, Jinnah Hospital Lahore,
University of Peshawar, The Agriculture University
Peshawar, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University
Peshawar, College of Home Economics Peshawar, Khyber
Collage of Dentistry Peshawar, IRNUM
Hospital Peshawar, ABASYN University
Peshawar, Foji Foundation Hospital Lahore,
International Dental Hospital Islamabad & Thal Univer-
sity Bhakkar attended the session. Additional Director
PASTIC explained PASTIC & PSF services for young
scholars and scientists throughout the country. E-
certificates were sent to all participants at the end of
Session.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Science &
Technology visited the PASTIC services stall.
Faculty, Researchers, and various university officials
participated in the workshop. The technical session was
conducted by PSF experts Dr. Muhammad Israr, SO (RS)
in which he gave detail presentation on the module of the
workshop which is spread over two days and designed to
train and equip scientists/ faculty members with skills on
scientific proposal writing with a focus on PSF funding
opportunities. Federal Minister for Science & Technology
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui distributed cash as token of
appreciation to the winners .

Admiral (R) Khawaja Ghazanfar Hussain HI (M), Direc-
tor General of Bahria University, Karachi Campus
(BUKC), along with Prof. Dr. Haroon Rashid of Electrical
Engineering and other faculty members of BUKC on 10th
May, 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to organize a
"Project Formulation Workshop" scheduled on 13-14th
May 2024 at Bahria University Karachi.

Campus on May 13, 2024. During visit of Dr. Khalid
Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Science &
Technology Islamabad, PSCK officers provided valuable
insights into PASTIC services. It's noteworthy that over
300 professionals, faculty members, researchers and
students visited the PASTIC Service Stall.
