SAARC Women SME's Portal
Awareness & ICT Capacity Building
Workshops
PASTIC organized a 3-day “SAARC Women
Entrepreneurs Portal Awareness & ICT Capacity
Building Workshop” under SAARC Development
Fund Project, “Networking and Capacity Building of
Women Entrepreneurs (SMEs) from SAARC
Countries” on December 11-13, at PC Hotel Lahore.
Web Manager and Mr. Usman Khan were the
Resource Persons.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram Shaikh, Director
General, PASTIC was the Chief Guest, of closing
ceremony. In his remarks he thanked all the four
women chambers presidents and their women
entrepreneur participants who took keen interest in
this workshop. At the end, Shields and certificates
were distributed among the Resource Persons /
organizers and participants of the workshop.
DR. Saima Huma Tanveer, Project Director,
welcomed the participants and thanked Resource
Persons for sparing their valuable time for the
workshop.
The main objective of this project is to promote
women entrepreneurial networks for advancement of
their businesses co-operation, and partnerships for
p r o m o t i o n o f t h e i r p r o d u c t s / s e r v i c e s a n d
entrepreneurial technologies/activities for
betterment of their economies. The main activities of
the Project include development of Web Portal,
collection of business information of women SMEs
from all the participating countries, and to upload it
on the portal, and creating of awareness of portal
through capacity building workshops. Mr. Saif-ul-lah
Azeem, Principal System Analyst, Mr. Nabi Bux,
Similar workshops were held in Karachi, Islamabad
and Dacca on December 22-24, 2019, December 29-
31, 2019 and December 29-31, 2019, in which 80,
120 and 48 Women SMEs respectively participated.

A three day Portal Awareness and Capacity Building
Workshop was organized by PASTIC under
development project entitled “Networking and
Capacity Building of Women Entrepreneurs from
SAARC Countries (NCBWESC) in collaboration
with Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and
Industry Dhaka, on December 29-31, 2019 at Dhaka.
The workshop commenced with inaugural session
chaired by Ms. Ulfat Jahan Moon, Director, BWCCI
and with opening remarks by Mr. Saifullah Azim,
Principal System Analyst, Project Coordinator, and
Mr. Pejush Kanti Datta, Coordinator from BWCCI.
The objective of the workshop was to give hands on
training, on the use of SAARC web portal, developed
by PASTIC under NCBWESC project. Mr. Saifullah
Azim and Mr. Nabi Bux were the Resource Persons
from PASTIC, and deliver presentation on ICT tools
and techniques, and also provided hands-on practice
to 46 women entrepreneurs from Dhaka, Rajshahi
and Rangpur, on developed We Portal.

PASTIC Cloud KOHA Workshops

Lahore
PASTIC in collaboration with Quaid-e-Azam Public
Library, Lahore, jointly organized a three day
training workshop on “PASTIC Cloud KOHA
Training workshop” on December 11-13, 2019 at
Lahore. About 30 women entrepreneurs participated
from Bahawalpur, Multan and Faisalabad, along with
Presidents of all said Women Chambers.
The Director General/Secretary BOG, Quaid-e-
Azam Public Library, Mr. Waheed Akhtar Ansari,
inaugurated the Training workshop. Mr. Syed Habib
Akhtar Jaffari, Project Coordinator / Principal
Librarian, PASTIC, Islamabad was Guest of
Honor/Resource Person in inaugural session. Mr. Ali
Raza Khan, Deputy Director (STI), PASTIC
introduced PASTIC and its activities. Mr. Nadeem
Sohail, Director, Skills Development, was also
Resource Person and conducted 6-sessions.
In the closing remarks, Guest of honor, Prof. Dr.
Muhammad Akram Shaikh, Director General,
PASTIC, highlighted the objectives of training
workshop and achievements of organization and
briefly explained the project. Chief Guest Mr. Tahir
Yousaf, Secretary, Archive & libraries, shed light on
the importance of such programs in making the
librarians proactive leaders in their respective
institutions. At the end, Shields and certificates were
distributed among the Guests and participants of the
workshop.

Training workshop on SLiMS
& SETIADI
Meetings:
Deputy Director PASTIC Peshawar, Ms. Ghazala Ali
Khan attended a meeting with Executive Director
(IPO Pakistan) and Director ORICs of different
universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at ORIC,
University of Peshawar on December 19, 2019. The
objective of the meeting was to discuss 2nd phase of
Technology Innovation Support Centre (TISCs), of
universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PASTIC Sub Centre Karachi arranged a one day
training workshop on “(SLiMS) (Senyan Library
Management System) & (SETIADI) Senayan
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation System” jointly
organized by Sindh College Library Association
(SCLA) Sukkur Region & SLiMS Community
Karachi on December 14, 2019 at Government Boys
Degree College, Larkana. Chief Guest was Prof.
Muhammad Atiquee Soomro, Acting Principle
Government Boys Degree College, Larkana. Mr.
Aijaz Akhter Ahmedani from SLiMS Community
Karachi was Resource Person. 30 participants
attended the workshop. Deputy Director PASTIC
Sub-Centre Karachi, Mr. Abdul Fatah Shaikh,
delivered a detailed presentation (through PASTIC
website) to explain the perticipants about PASTIC
activities. At the end shield was presented to the
Resource Person, and certificates were distributed
among the participants.
PASTIC Sub-Centre Karachi arranged a PASTIC
Services Stall, during 2nd International Conference
on Sustainable Development on Civil Engineering
2019 (ICSDC-2019), on December 5-7, 2019 at
Mehran University of Engineering & Technology,
Jamshoro.
