Century-2023” and “2 International Conference on
Contemporary World: Challenges & Transformation-
2023”on November 15 & November 16, 2023 respec-
tively.

The conferences provided a forum for students, profes-
sionals and researchers in academia and industry to
explore the emerging trends in Humanities, Social
Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics CS
and IT. Different departments of various universities from
all over the Pakistan participated in these events. PASTIC

PASTIC organized a three days training workshop on
“Research Tools and Techniques (SPSS)” held from
November 28-30, 2023 for the research scholars of PIDE
and Quaid-e- Azam University, Islamabad at PASTIC
National Centre, Islamabad. The main objective of this
workshop was to enhance the research capabilities of
research scholars and students. Dr. Maryam Ibrar, Addi-
tional Director (STI) PNC was the resource person. Forty-
two (42) research scholars from PIDE & Quaid-e-Azam
University, Arid Agriculture University attended the
training workshop.

SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is
widely used in a wide range of disciplines i.e. commonly
used in marketing, education research, healthcare and
medical for statistical analysis.

At the end of the training workshop, participants became
familiar with SPSS presentation of statistical output and
equipped themselves with the basic knowledge, “how to
conduct descriptive and basic inferential statistics”.
Director General PASTIC, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram
Shaikh, at the closing session briefly introduced different
PASTIC services and explained the objective to organize
such training workshops. At the end of the session,
Director General PASTIC, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram
Shaikh distributed the training certificates amongst the
participants.

visited Jinnah Chemistry Project Expo 2023 as a judge on

14 November 2023 in Exhibition Hall, Jinnah University
for Women Karachi. The Event was organized by Depart-
ment of Chemistry, Jinnah University for Women (JUW).
The theme of exhibition was “Green Chemistry-
Environmental Chemistry” and Natural Product Chemis-
try addressing SDG-13: Climate Action, SDG-8 and 9:
Decent Work and Economic Growth and Industry, Innova-
tion and Infrastructure. Dr. Najma Rasool Mughal Orga-
nizer JCHEM and Chairperson Department of Chemistry
JUW inaugurate the session. Ms. Afsheen Tariq A.D (STI)
gave vote of thanks, brief about PASTIC Services,
appreciated student's projects, encourages enhancing their
projects and getting funds from Pakistan Science Founda-
tion. Registrar & ORIC Director JUW gave closing
remarks and appreciate the student's projects.

b. Dr. Maryum Ibrar, Additional Director (STI) PNC
attended a three days training workshop on “Scrum &
Agile Project Management” at Pakistan Planning and
Management Institute (PPMI), Islamabad on 22-24
November 2023.The workshop was designed to provide a
fundamental understanding of the agile project manage-
ment (software development) with focus on Scrum
methodologies.

Event/ Webinar /Meeting Attended

collaborated by providing assistance for Composing,
Proof reading and editing of the Abstract Books.

a. Director General PASTIC Participated in 'Annual
General Meeting of Alumni 2023' organized by KOICA
Pakistan Office at Serena Hotel Islamabad on November 3.
The event was attended by Park Ki Jun, Ambassador to
Pakistan, President Yeonjeho of KOICA Pakistan Office,
Korean companies, Taekwondo Demonstration Team and
150 KAAP alumni. During the event, deliberations were
held over the activities of alumni in 2023 and presentations
were given by different Korean compaines. Reports on the
2023 alumni activity and water resource construction and
development of the Southeast were also presented. A

Taekwondo performance commemorating the 40 anniver-
sary of the Hanpa Water School also took place.The event
was concluded with remarks from Park Ki Jun declaring
the Alumni as an assest in shaping the relationship between
Pakistan and Korea.

attended & participated in All Sindh Stakeholders
Meeting of Industry, Higher Educational Institutions
(HEIs), Polytechnic, Vocational and Government
Technology Colleges for "Strengthening Academia-
Industry Linkage for Engineering Technology" on
November 28, 2023 at UIT University. The Event was
organized by UIT University in collaboration with HEC's
National Technology Council. More than 100 stake-
holders' from over 50 organizations, universities and
institutions participated in the event.

During the meeting; the stakeholders encouraged
technology institutions to seek national and international
collaboration for aligning studies at par to international
