The launching ceremony of PASTIC's PSDP funded
project titled “National Digital Archive of Research
Published in Pakistani Journals” was held on June 24,
2021 at Islamabad Hotel, Islamabad. The main
objective was to introduce the project and scope of
work to the stakeholders i.e., Publishers of Scientific
Journals published in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and
allied areas.

Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information
Centre (PASTIC) is a premier organization in the
country, established for the dissemination of
Scientific & Technological information, for catering
to the information needs of scientists, researchers,
academicians, industrialists, entrepreneurs, planners,
policy makers, etc.

Through this project, PASTIC has aimed to develop
Networking of Journals Publishers Community,
Preservation of National Research Content in Full-
Text Format, Standardization of Scientific Journals
Repository and development of Visualization Model
to Review Research Trends. PASTIC will support
Journal publishers by providing free Journal Hosting,
Data import and Backup Services, Financial
Assistance for Digitization and Capacity Building of
Publishers / Editors / Scientific Community.

ceremony. The ceremony was attended by the
Scientific Journal Editors and representatives of
scientific community.

platform to Scientific Journals published in Pakistan
for preservation and dissemination of research
published in indigenous Journals of Pakistan.

Seminar on “Review of Literature and
Referencing” at Pakistan Forest Institute
Peshawar
On request of Director Education, Pakistan Forest
Institute (PFI) Peshawar, Ms. Ghazala Ali Khan,
Additional Director (STI) PASTIC, delivered a
detailed presentation on “Review of Literature and
Referencing” to B.Sc and M.Sc Forestry class on June
15, 2021. At the end of the session a detailed question
answer session was held. Dr. Mamona Wali
Muhammad, Director Education PFI, appreciated the
continuous support of PASTIC for their students.
Workshop on “Management by using Mendeley
- Reference Management Software' at AARI
Faisalabad
PASTIC Sub-Centre Faisalabad organized an online
workshop on “Management by using Mendeley -
Reference Management Software'' on June 3, 2021 at
Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI)
Faisalabad. The workshop participants included 75
Researchers, Ph.D Students, Directors and HODs
from various institutes of Punjab. The session was
started with the recitation from the Holy Quran,
followed by welcome address by Mr. Muhammad
Hasnain, Deputy Director PASTIC Faisalabad. Dr.

Topic?” at Karachi
PASTIC Sub-Centre Karachi organized a Webinar on
“How to select a Research Topic" on June 16, 2021 at
PASTIC Sub-Centre Karachi. The workshop
participants included 90 researchers from various
universities and R&D Institutions from Sindh,
Punjab, KPK and Baluchistan. The session was
started with the recitation from the Holy Quran,
followed by welcome address by Ms. Afsheen Tariq,
Assistant Director (STI), PASTIC Sub-Centre
Karachi. She also delivered detailed presentation
about PASTIC services and its new S&T and R&D

“Entrepreneurship in the Space Industry” on June 01,
2021 at PASTIC Sub Centre Karachi, which was
organized by Business Incubation Centre, Institute of
Space Technology, Islamabad.

training workshop titled “Present Era of Ecofriendly
Nematode Management Strategies” jointly
organized by the National Nematological Research
Centre, University of Karachi, Pakistan Society of
