Workshop on “How To Write a Research
Article” at FUUAST Karachi

Archive of research published in Pakistani journals” for
Sindh Region on January 8, 2022 at Moveinpick Hotel
Karachi.
The main objective of the event was to introduce the
project and scope of work to the stakeholders i.e.,
Publishers of Scientific Journals published in Sindh and
allied areas. Through this project, the PASTIC is aimed to
develop networking of journals publishers' community,
preservation of national research content in full-text
format, standardization of scientific journals repository
and development of visualization model to review
research trends. The PASTIC will support journal
publishers by providing free journal hosting, data import
and backup services, financial assistance for digitization
and capacity building of publishers/editors/scientific
community.
The Chairman Pakistan Science Prof. Dr. Shahid
Mahmood Baig (SI), was the Chief Guest of the event. He
gave a brief introduction of PSF objectives and
appreciated the PASTIC role for the support and
promotion of research through its various activities.
PASTIC Sub-Centre Karachi in collaboration with
Department of Microbiology, FUUAST, Karachi &
Pakistan Society for Microbiology organized the
Workshop titled, “How to Write a Research Article” Post
conference workshop TIBC PSM 2021 on January 6, 2022
at A.Q Khan Auditorium, Federal Urdu University,
Karachi. Total 70 research student from different
universities of Karachi participated in the workshop. The
Session was started with the recitation from the Holy
Quran, followed welcome remarks by Dr. Sadia Khalil,
Assistant Professor, Federal Urdu University. Ms. Afsheen
Tariq, Assistant Director (STI), PASTIC Sub Centre
Karachi, briefed PASTIC services & its new S&T and
R&D Data Bases. Guest speaker was Dr. Syed Aziz ,
Scientist at Health Canada and Adjunct Professor
University of Ottawa, Department of Pathology and
Laboratory medicine appreciated the PASTIC's work &
gave the presentation about topic. Closing remarks by Dr.
Syeda Sadaf Akbar, from Hashmani group of Hospital. Dr.
Zeba Imran, Associate Professor, Department of
Microbiology, FUUAST distributed shields & certificates
to resource person, organizers & participants.

Science Research (IJEHSR) was the guest of the honour at
the ceremony.

The Project Manager Mr. Saifullah Azim gave a brief
introduction about the project. He said that the project is
aimed to provide a single electronic platform to Scientific
Journals published in Pakistan for preservation and
dissemination of research published in indigenous
Journals of Pakistan.
The Director-General PASTIC Professor Dr. Muhammad
Akram Shaikh gave a brief introduction of PASTIC
services & also shared the details of project with the
participants, with the hope to work together with all
Scientific Journal editors and representatives of the
scientific community from Sindh & Baluchistan Region
for development of “National Digital Archive of research
published in Pakistani journals”.

PASTIC Sub Center Lahore in collaboration with
Government College University, Lahore (GCUL),
organized one-day training workshop on “Citation and
literature Management by using Mendeley Software'' on
January 19, 2022. Total 51 participants attended this
workshop form Government College University, Lahore.
Ms. Rubina Haddi, stage secretary, welcomed guests,
faculty members and other participants.

contribution towards promotion of research culture in
University. He valued this training workshop and
encouraged to arrange such type of sessions in future to
facilitate Faculty Members Researchers and Scholars.

online meeting and hosted by R&D FCCI at Faisalabad
Chamber of Commerce and Industry on January 26, 2022.
It was started with the recitation from Holy Quran.
Director General PASTIC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram
Shaikh delivered the welcome remarks and briefed the
participants about the CRP. Detail introduction of the CRP
project was shared to participants by Dr. Saima Huma
Tanveer, Director PSF/PASTIC Islamabad and her team.
Dr Khalid Mehmood DG PMNH/Project Director has also
apprised the participants about other project “National
Technology Innovation Fund” executed by Pakistan
Science Foundation. Issues and problems of the industry
were highlighted by Mr. Ahmad Hassan Chairman R&D
Committee of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and
Industry with their executive members and Mr. Faisal
Razzaq Khawaja Chairman R&D
Committee of Sargodha Chamber of
Commerce and Industry.
At the end, shields were distributed among guests and
resource persons. Participants received their certificates.

attended Progress Review Meeting & Training for
“Quality Enhancement Cells (QECs)'' jointly organized by
HEC & The QEC-University of Peshawar on January 26-
28, 2022 at University of Peshawar. On second day of
session titled: “Research & Innovation Division of HEC
HJRS & Research Publication Verification'' she shared
details of PASTIC project titled: National Digital Archive
of Scientific Journals Of Pakistan.

One Day Workshop on “Access Of Research Data
and its MANAGEMENT at GCU Faisalabad
PASTIC Faisalabad organized a workshop on “Access of
Research Data and Its Management” on January 27, 2022
at GCU Faisalabad. Total 120 participants from various
discipline participated in the workshop. Workshop started
with welcome remarks by Dr. Asim Mansha Deputy
Director, ORIC then remarks by Dr. Abdul Rauf Bhatti
Director, ORIC ۔GCU Faisalabad and key note with some
PASTIC introduction by Mr. Muhammad Hasnain,
Deputy Director at PASTIC. The resource person was Dr.
