Seminar on Importance of Intellectual Property
Rights in Academia at the University of Lahore

Mr. Ali Raza Khan, Additional Director (STI), briefed the
Faculty Members regarding the activities and facilities of
PASTIC at UOL, Lahore.
Mr. M. Umar Ashraf, Director, IPO. As resource person,
conducts the technical session of the IPRs Seminar at UOL.
Lahore.
Mr. Muhammad Umar Ashraf, In Charge/ Director,
Intellectual Property Organization (IPO), Lahore Region
introduced the services of IPO, Pakistan and explain the
process used at IPO to protect Intellectual Property Rights
(IPRs) of any individual or a company. He also encouraged
the participants to get their innovation / research work
registered as a patent with IPO Pakistan to get
maximum benefits from their innovative
research work.
Chief Guest of the workshop Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf,
Rector, The University of Lahore, shared the contribution
of the University of Lahore towards promotion of Science
and Technology to develop research culture in the
University. Mr. Muhammad Umar, Director IPO Pakistan,
explained the importance of registration of IP rights for
academia, Registration of Copyright and Registration of
Trade Mark.
Ms. Shakra Khurshid, Assistant Controller, IPO Pakistan
gave introduction about Patent and Design Law, Process of
registration of industrial design and patents in Pakistan
Ms. Shakra Khurshid, IPO. Resource Person, conducts the
technical session of the IPRs Seminar at UOL, Lahore.
At the end, certificates were distributed among all the
seminar participants. Conference shields and souvenirs
were also presented to the organizers and resource persons
by PASTIC.

Training workshop on Smart PLS Modern Data
Analysis Technique at Kushal Khan Khattak
University Karak
Prof. Dr. M. Ashraf, Rector, UOL,distributed the certificates
among the participants of (IRPs) Seminar at UOL, Lahore.
PASTIC Sub Centre Peshawar in Collaboration with
Kushal Khan Khattak University Karak organized one day
training workshop:Smart PLS Modern Data Analysis
Techniqueon December 22, 2021. Total 48 participants,
faculty members and researchers from different
universities including Islamia College Peshawar
participated.
The resource person Mr. Zakria Qasimi (Assistant
Professor) was from Islamia College University Peshawar.
In the inaugural session, Prof. Dr. Johar Ali, Vice
Chancellor Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak
delivered detailed presentation regarding literature review
and methodology for good research work.

Training workshop on “Research Methodology
/ Research Proposal Writing” at Quetta

Mr. Abdul Khalique Sial, Incharge, PASTIC Quetta, receiving

PASTIC Sub Centre Quetta in collaboration with Institute
of Public Health Department, Government of Baluchistan
organized one day training workshop on “Research
Methodology / Research Proposal Writing” on December
23, 2021 at Brewery Road, Quetta. The target participants
of the workshop were PhD students. Total 32 participants
attended the workshop. Resource Person, Madam Nayab
Khan, Lecturer, Zoology Department, University of
Balochistan Quetta delivered the oral and /practical
session of the workshop.
The Certificate Award Ceremony was held on the same
day. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anwar Panazei, Dean, Life
Sciences Department, University of Balochistan was the
Chief Guest.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anwar Panazei, Chief Guest,
Director (IPH) and Mr. Abdul Khalique Sial, Incharge
(PSC QTA), distributed the certificates and shields among
the participants, resource person and organizers.
