Three Days International Food and Nutrition Sciences
conference 2022, was organized by Gomal University
DIK and Evolution Pakistan in collaboration with
University of Swat and KP Food Safety and Halal food
authority in Swat, August 18-20, 2022.
Prof. Dr. Faqir Anjum former Vice Chancellor - University
of the Gambia graced the occasion as chief guest along

Prof. Dr. M. Akram Shaikh DG. PASTIC sharing his views on the
importance of food & nutrition and briefed the audience about
PASTIC/PSF activities and programs.
Prof. Dr. M. Akram Shaikh expressed his views about the
importance of food and nutrition and stressed upon the
need of integrated and collaborated approaches towards
research and development. He also briefed the audience
about PASTIC/PSF activities and programs. He
acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Sadaf and Khurram Iqbal
(Evolution Pak) and other participants including faculty
members, young researchers and senior scientist from
renowned S&T organizations along with industrialist from
30 universities and 15 leading Industries who travelled
from far-flung areas of Pakistan.

Two Days Workshop on Digital Information
Literacy In Agriculture, Science, and Technology
at main Library University of Agriculture
Faisalabad.
PASTIC efforts to hold a successful two days workshop on
Digital Information Literacy In Agriculture, Science, and
Technology on August 25-27, 2022 at main Library
University of Agriculture Faisalabad. Around 88
participants including Directors, HODs , PhD
Researchers, and Students from Faculty of Agriculture
and Faculty of Science & Technology participated.
Session was started with the recitation from the Holy
Quran followed by welcome remarks by Prof. Dr, Zahir
Ahmad Zahir, Director ORIC UAF. Chief Guest was the
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ramzan, Former Vice Chancellor
Lead University Lahore. Introduction to PASTIC services
was delivered by Muhammad Hasnain, Deputy Director
PASTIC Faisalabad. The resource persons were Prof. Dr.
Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Zaheer, Chief Library
Officer UMT Lahore, Ch Muhammad Nadeem Akhtar
Chief Librarian AARI-Faisalabad.

PASTIC Sub-Center Karachi Organized a Webinar on
"Management Skills of Researchers” on August 24, 2022.
The webinar was attended by more than 70 researchers of

Institutions from Sindh, Punjab, KPK
& Baluchistan. The session was started

Seminar on “Articial Intelligence in the diagnosis of
Benign & Malignant Tumors”
with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a
welcome address by Ms Afsheen Tariq, Assistant Director
(STI), PASTIC Sub Centre Karachi. Dr. Samiyah Tasleem,
CEO Pakistan Education and Health Consultant group &
Researcher at University of Karachi was the resource
person of the webinar. She gave a detailed presentation
about Management Skills. The webinar was ended with an
active session of Question / answers.

The Director General PASTIC has been
nominated by the Ministry of Science & Technology to
attend the virtual meeting on 6th Sixth session of the Asia-
Pacific information Superhighway (AP-IS) steering
Committee. The main aim of the session was to “Improve
digital cooperation, which emphasizes the need to connect
all people to the Internet, avoid Internet fragmentation
which had been emerged during COVID-19 pandemic.

PASTIC with Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, to greet him on
assuming the charge of Chairman, HEC. Role and
activities of PASTIC / PSF for researchers were discussed
in detail.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram Shaikh, DG,
PASTIC held a meeting with the principals of Bolan
Medical College (Quetta), Loralai Medical College
(Loralai), Makran Medical, College (Turbat) and Jhalawan
Medical College (Khuzdar) on the advice of Chairman,
PSF in compliance to the directions of Senate Standing
Committee / Ministry of Science & Technology to improve
and support health facilities and introduction of health
science education system in the field of Anatomy,
Physiology, Pharmacy, Pathology and Biotechnology at
the medical colleges of Balochistan.

Around 500 companies had set stalls in the
exhibition for various important fields of IT and Telecom
sector including Cloud, Data Centre, Cyber security, ERP,
E d u c a t i o n , B a n k i n g a n d F i n a n c e , H e a l t h a n d
Pharmaceutical, Ecommerce, Artificial Intelligence and
Robotics with a focus on networking, knowledge sharing
and lead generation.

PASTIC National Center organized a meeting
to review and discuss about PASTIC progress and to plan
activities during financial year 2022-23 on August
25,2022. The meeting was convened by DG PASTIC. The
meeting was attended by PNC officials along with Sub
Centers In charges. The Sub Centers joined the meeting
online via zoom.

Chairperson, Chemistry department, Sardar Bahadur
Khan Women's University Quetta for the arrangements of
upcoming workshop on “Bio-Safety”.
