Webinar on Basic Data Analysis through
“R” Software.
A webinar on “Basic Data Analysis through “R” Software”
was organized on April 27, 2023 by PASTIC Sub Centre
Karachi. More than 90 researchers from different
universities and R&D Institutions from Sindh, Punjab,
KPK & Balochistan attended this online session. The
webinar was started with the recitation from The Holy
Quran followed by welcome address by Ms. Afsheen
Tariq, Assistant Director (STI), PASTIC Sub Centre,
Karachi. She briefly introduced different PASTIC services
and explained the objectives to organize such training
sessions. She also informed the participants about newly
developed databases, portals etc. as well as Pakistan
Science Foundation's role towards support of scientific
research. Hafiz Syed Muhammad Rafi Expert/Senior
Lecturer Sohail University was the resource person of this
event. He gave a detailed presentation about “R Software”.
During webinar he explained installation process, Basic
syntax in R, Data types in R, statistical modeling machine
learning etc. At the end a fruitful question/answers session
was conducted. Ms. Afsheen Tariq, AD (STI), PASTIC
Sub Centre, Karachi appreciated the resource person's
presentation and paid thanks to participants.

The University of Education, Lahore organized “2nd
International Conference on Recent Approaches in Plant
Sciences (RAPS-2023)” on May 4-5, 2023. The
conference, aimed to bring together researchers and
scientists from academia and industry in an effort to lay a
ground work for future collaborative research. The
conference provided a forum to students, professionals
and researchers in academia and industry to explore the
recent researches in Plant Sciences. Different departments
of various universities from all over the Pakistan
participated in this event. PASTIC collaborated in the said
event by publishing 350 copies of Abstract Book for this
conference. Mr Ali Raza, Additional Director Sub-Centre
Lahore has participated and represented PASTIC in this
conference.
