PASTIC National Centre, Islamabad Conducts Two-Day Hands-on Training on “LaTeX for Research Writing”

Islamabad, October 08, 2026 — The Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC), National Centre, Islamabad, successfully organized a two-day hands-on training workshop titled “LaTeX for Research Writing” on 7–8 October 2026. The training workshop was attended by participants from universities across Pakistan and aimed to strengthen their research writing, academic formatting, and scientific document preparation skills.

The training program introduced participants to LaTeX, a widely used document preparation system for developing professional research papers, thesis, dissertations, and other scholarly publications. It focused on equipping participants with practical skills to prepare well-structured academic documents in accordance with the formatting requirements of research publications.

During the first day, participants learned the fundamentals of LaTeX, including document structure, chapters and sections, academic formatting, and the incorporation of figures and images. The second day covered table creation and formatting, mathematical equations, citation and reference management, and the use of journal templates for preparing manuscripts in line with academic publishing standards.

The program emphasized hands-on learning and practical exercises, enabling participants to apply the concepts covered during the sessions. It also enhanced their understanding of the role of LaTeX in producing consistent, professional, and publication-ready research documents.
